Unit 2 Overview

Developing thematic questions: Truth

Good guiding questions are the basis of effective research. Questions should guide the sources you select and your annotations.  As a class, we are going to develop some good guiding questions around the concept of TRUTH.

Examples from 'A Death':

  • Why do people presume innocence?
  • What is justice and does it change based on circumstances?

Research Skills: Columbine Research Portfolio (copy in drop)

Watch video and fill out the QCI chart. Keep the guiding questions about Truth in mind as you provide insights/connections.

Review guiding questions to create our list for the formative shared inquiry on Truth.

INDIVIDUAL TASK: Write down 3 themes that you would like to focus on during the reading of Columbine (submit card to Mrs S). Write 2-3 guiding questions on each theme. Add to your Research Portfolio.

Start reading: Columbine (page 3-44)

H/W: Complete guiding questions on each theme; Read 'Columbine' pages 3-44 and fill out the research portfolio for this section.
